A lot of these come out of my sketchbook. Every idea begins there, sometimes long before I know what it may lead to.

A few years ago, I started sketching with ballpoint pens. In part to train myself to stop erasing, and also because of the way faint hatch marks can be used to build up value.

Today ballpoint pens are my preferred drawing instruments.
